This board began as an image that was atmospheric with no real focal point. To narrow the focus, I stapled down a croker sack around the edges and sprayed a pale neutral metallic paint through the uneven holes in the fabric. It still bored me a bit so I woke in the middle of the night and selected pastels from a box just by value and worked on the design in the semi-darkness. The warm metallic border focuses the eye toward the middle of the board while dark spherical shapes lend movement to the image. The result is again an organic design reminiscent of something captured beneath the lens of a microscope.
